About Molecular Magic Casting
Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, Grass Valley is in the heart of Gold Country and home to Molecular Magic Castings. I began my career in jewelry 18 years ago when I was at a crossroad in life and needed a change in career. I responded to a classified ad in my local paper for an apprentice Goldsmith at a full service, lost wax casting production shop. I got the job, and in doing so, found an instant connection with this line of work, and especially was attracted to the casting aspect. I soon became the lead caster, and with that, found my calling in my occupational life. In 2016, when the shop permanently closed its doors, it opened a door for me to start my own casting venture, Molecular Magic Casting. This created an exciting opportunity for me to shift focus from the mass produced spectrum of jewelry to the more artistic aspects of one of a kind creations and small batch production runs. I love all elements of casting from the mathematics of alloying to the alchemy of turning wax into metal. The most rewarding part of what I do is handing a raw casting to a client and watching their wizardry and artistic expression transform it into a masterpiece of finished jewelry. I feel blessed to be doing what I love and fortunate to work with such talented artists.
